LHD Scoop Training School
A Load Haul Dumper (LHD) is a type of mining equipment that is used to move ore and waste rock within a mine. LHD scoop training typically involves both classroom instruction and hands-on training. The course is for NQF Level 2, 4 credits with SAQA ID 244476. The LHD Scoop training would cover the following topics:
- Safety procedures: The trainee will learn about the safety precautions that must be taken when operating an LHD Scoop, such as wearing personal protective equipment, following traffic rules, and avoiding hazards.
- LHD Scoop operation: The trainee will learn how to properly operate the LHD, including how to start and stop the machine, navigate through the mine, and load and unload materials.
- Maintenance: The trainee will learn how to perform routine maintenance on the LHD, such as checking fluid levels, changing filters, and troubleshooting common problems.
- Emergency procedures: The trainee will learn how to handle emergency situations, such as dealing with equipment failure or power outages.
- Compliance with regulations: The trainee will be familiarized with the regulations and guidelines that apply to the operation of LHDs.

The hands-on lhd scoop training would typically take place in a simulated mining environment or a safe compliant lhd training site, under the guidance of a qualified instructor. The trainee would practice operating the LHD Scoop under different conditions and scenarios, and receive feedback on their performance. After the training, the operator should be able to safely and efficiently operate an LHD in a real-life mining environment.
