Learning how to operate a mobile crane while following the correct operating procedures. Setting up the crane for the lift. Performing the lift on properly rigged & secure load. Correct use of outriggers. Terminologies such as the center of gravity, radius, boom angle, sweep area are explained.
Discussing safety aspects of a mobile crane for effective and safe load lifting. Safety signs and warning signs. Dangerous goods. Emergency procedures and mobile crane responsibilities. Correct use of accident report sheet.

Using the daily checklist to check the mobile crane for safe operation in the workplace. Reporting any defects discovered during the daily checks. Troubleshooting techniques. Writing of correct mobile crane defect reports and ensuring that the mobile crane is in a serviceable condition.
